Ambassador Choi Sangdae hosted a dinner for Mr. Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the OECD, on Thursday, 21st of November. On this occasion, Ambassador Choi provided an insightful overview of the ongoing cooperation between Korea and the OECD in key areas of mutual interest, including digital/AI transition, carbon-free energy, quality of life and demographic change. Ambassador Choi and the Secretary-General also discussed avenues to further strengthen their partnership and deepen collaboration regarding Indonesia’s accession process, enhance the national diversity of OECD staff, and to prepare for Korea’s APEC Chairmanship in 2025 as well as the 30th anniversary of Korea's membership to the OECD, which will be celebrated in 2026. Secretary-General Cormann expressed his profound appreciation for Korea’s contributions to the OECD.
