Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Korea to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

Ambassador Choi Sangdae attended the High-Level Roundtable Meeting of the ‘IEA Global Conference on Energy & AI’ in Paris on December 5. In his remarks, he emphasized that energy, AI, and climate change are inter-linked issues, highlighting the need of harmonization of energy transition and digital carbon neutrality in preparation for the AI era. He also stressed the importance of ensuring stable supply of electricity by using carbon free energy (CFE) such as nuclear power, renewables, and hydrogen. Furthermore, he pledged to foster continuous international dialogue on energy and AI at next year’s APEC Energy Ministers’ Meeting and at the Clean Energy Ministerial Meeting in Korea, while strengthening collaboration with the IEA.
